We all do laundry - lots of it. It is such an integral part of running a household and quite costly, too. We need to learn to combine loads, hang them up to dry when possible and even lower the washing temperature and change from petroleum based to vegetable based detergent. There are endless opportunities to become more eco-friendly. Living in Ohio, we calculated that our high-efficiency dryer uses about $1.00 per load. I simply quit using it and save about $ 40.00 per month. We use outdoor dryers in good weather and indoor dryers when it is cold and/or rainy.
